One of the struggling Local Level Government (LLG) in Western Province- Wipim LLG, is currently seeing a new road construction project taking place.

A new vehicle has been delivered to Wipim District Headquarters yesterday, and has already gone to work, making its first trip to inspect the road construction on the mainland of South Fly District.

A team of officers drove from Wipim to Tapila today to check progress on the Wipim to Tapila Road Project, funded under the Ok Tedi Mining Limited (Ok Tedi) Tax Credit Scheme.

Western Provincial Administrator, Robert Alphonse Kaiyun said the trip proves the road is now passable and usable as it connects Wipim directly to Tapila for the first time.

The vehicle is expected to support more field visits and service delivery patrols into the mainland of South Fly Electorate and its surrounding LLG’s and District areas.
